Hostname

To set your hostname in Linux, for red-hat based systems like redhat, Fedora, or Mandrake/Mandriva, edit # /etc/sysconfig/network, and set the qualified host/domain name (like mybox.myserver.net) in the HOSTNAME variable.

If Debian systems, just stick the host and domain name in /etc/hostname, same as above, but without the HOSTNAME= part.
